If you had told anyone prior to the game’s release that Baldur’s Gate 3, bear sex, and romanceable companions would have a surprising amount in common, they’d have laughed you out of the room. Now, several Game of the Year awards later, the hit CRPG has become synonymous with hot fantasy characters and romance. Fortunately, for those craving a little love in their video game experiences, this makes BG3 the perfect experience. But what do you do when you simply cannot choose between all of the available suitors? Well, if you were hoping that romancing multiple characters at the same time was the solution, you’re in luck.

Can You Romance Multiple Characters in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Yes, you can romance multiple characters in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, only certain characters can be romanced at the same time as each other. Shadowheart and Astarion are the only origin companions who are open to a polyamorous relationship. However, they cannot be romanced together. Halsin, Minthara, Mizora, and Sorn and Nym Orlith are also open to polyamorous relationships.

The following characters are the only ones that can be romanced simultaneously:

  • Shadowheart
    • Not with Asterion
  • Astarion
    • Not with Shadowheart
  • Halsin
  • Minthara
  • Mizora
  • Sorn & Nym Orlith

Of course, there are exceptions to these. While Shadowheart and Astarion will allow you to have flings with Minthara and Mizora, they won’t allow you to have full relationships with them. This means that the only true polyamorous relationships in Baldur’s Gate 3 are Astarion and Halsin and Shadowheart and Halsin. If you want to get really funky, you can romance both Sorn and Nym alongside Halsin and Astarion or Shadowheart and Halsin. It’s the only possible foursome in the game if you’re into that.

That’s everything you need to know about romancing multiple characters in Baldur’s Gate 3. For more guides just like this one, check out our Games Hub or our complete romance guide for the game.
