Assassin’s Creed Jade Delayed Until 2025

A strategic shift from the developer Tencent has caused the upcoming mobile game Assassin’s Creed Jade to be delayed until 2025.

Assassin’s Creed Jade is a high-profile, much-anticipated mobile game set in ancient China. Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary partnering with Ubisoft, is currently developing it. It has been in development for four years and is Assassin’s Creed’s first complete game, which was solely created for a mobile game experience set in an open world on both iOS and Android.

Why is Assassin’s Creed Jade Delayed?

Assassin’s Creed Jade is being delayed due to its developer, Tencent, putting its resources together to help DreamStar. DreamStar is a recently released party game that can be enjoyed by players worldwide, providing a simple gameplay experience for players. It includes minigames and allows players to spend time together and chat. Tencent has decided to relocate staff members working on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game onto DreamStar. This shift has caused the mobile game Assassin’s Creed Jade to be delayed until 2025.

The delay stems from Tencent deciding to part ways from developing Western franchises due to small profit margins. Tencent aims to create games similar to Eggy Party and Genshin Impact through their own intellectual property. This way, Tencent can keep a majority of the profits from their games.
