What is the Hunt Board?
The Hunt Board is an in-game activity in Final Fantasy 16 that allows you to find and take down challenging beasts for a sizeable bounty of gil and renown. The actual board itself is unlocked in The Hideaway by talking to Gav after completing the story mission: The Gathering Storm.
After finding the specified enemy on the Hunt Board, go back and talk to Otto the Moogle to receive your rewards. Clearing all the hunts in the Hunt Board is required for a Silver PlayStation Trophy for those looking to snag the Platinum.
What’s unique about the Hunt Board is that the locations of the actual monsters are not listed, forcing you to explore and search every nook and cranny of an area to find your target. As the tier list of hunts gets higher, so are the descriptions of said hunts, but they usually provide a general idea of where you should look.
Where is Knight of the Splendent Heart Located in Final Fantasy 16?
Knight of the Splendent Heart is a Level 42 A-Tier hunt located in the Holy Empire of Sanbreque in the Royal Meadows region. You can find this dragoon knight by fast traveling to the Royal Meadows Obelisk and heading southwest, as seen in the map above. It will be waiting for you in a hallway of pillars.
It is important to note that the Knight of the Splendent Heart hunt won’t be unlocked until you complete the main quest: Back To Their Origin and reach level 42 with Clive.
Being an A-tier hunt in Final Fantasy 16, Knight of the Splendent Heart is not an easy fight. Be sure to stock up on potions and other consumable items to gain an advantage in battle, especially Stoneskin Tonics. It is recommended to equip Clive with Titan for this battle. Also, note the arena bounds as his health will reset if you stray too far away.
Knight of the Splendent Heart has 2-3 deadly moves to learn and study:
- Mirage Dive: Glowing signs will appear and the knight will fly into the sky and dive down at the markers.
- Mirage High Dive and Phantom Mirage: Similar to Mirage Dive except he will follow up with a rush attack right after landing on the ground. This can be countered with Titan’s abilities.
Rewards: Knight of the Splendent Heart drops 9000 experience points, 105 ability points, and 2 Meteorite. Completing the hunt rewards you with 17000 Gil and 35 Renown.

Most pilgrims to the Holy Capital of Oriflamme pass through the Penitent’s Gate on the road from the Royal Meadows. Of late, however, a knight in shining armor has elected to station himself beside this entrance, accusing any and all passers-by of being Cid the Outlaw—the one who led Prince Dion down the path to destruction—and challenging them to a duel to the death.
