Pokemon Go: Verdant Wonders Event Details, Times & Zarude Appearance

Pokemon Go is welcoming the return of Zarude as an exclusive Special Research story during the Verdant Wonders event.

Zarude, the Rogue Monkey Pokemon, is the featured Pokemon for the Verdant Wonders event, but you won’t actually be able to catch it in the wild. Unfortunately, it will only be a part of the limited-time Special Research story. Here is everything you need to know.

When is Verdant Wonders in Pokemon Go?

Pokemon Go: Verdant Wonders takes place from Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 am to Monday, March 25, 2024, at 8:00 pm local time.

As always, this means people from New Zealand will have access to the event almost a whole day before those in the United States.

Rogue of the Jungle – Limited-Time Special Research

For US$7.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you can purchase a Special Research story, titled Rogue of the Jungle, that grants an encounter with Zarude and the following bonuses:

  • 2 Premium Battle Passes
  • 6 Silver Pinap Berries
  • 5 Rare Candies
  • 1 Incense
  • Various Dark-type and Grass-type Pokémon encounters
  • And more!

After purchasing the Special Research Ticket, Trainers must open Pokemon Go at some point between Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 am and Monday, March 25, 2024, at 8:00 pm local time to receive the Rogue of the Jungle Special Research. After this, you can complete it at any time.

Increased Incense Encounters [Ticket Holders Only]

For Rogue of the Jungle ticket holders, these Pokemon will appear more frequently when using an Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense). It’s important to note that this will only be available during the event times.

Verdant Wonder Pokemon Debuts

There will be two new costumed Pokemon appearing during the Verdant Wonders event in Pokemon Go.

  • Cottonee wearing a flower crown (Shiny Available)
  • Whimsicott wearing a flower crown (Shiny Available)

You can use 50 Cottonee Candy and a Sun Stone to evolve Cottonee wearing a flower crown into Whimsicott wearing a flower crown.

Wild Encounters

These Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Verdant Wonders Event in Pokemon Go. This is the first time you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Flabébé as well.
