Pokemon Go is currently holding a two-day community day event on December 16 and December 17, and here are all the details you need to know.
Pokemon featured in Community Day events throughout 2023 will appear more frequently in the wild and as Timed Research reward encounters. Pokemon featured in Community Day events throughout 2022 will hatch from Eggs and appear in raids. They will also be reward encounters for Timed Research. Here is everything you need to know.

When is the December Community Day 2023?
The Pokemon Go December Community Day takes place on Saturday, December 16, 2023, and Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time.
This means people from New Zealand will have access to the event almost a whole day before those in the United States.
Event Bonuses
The Event Bonuses will boost most elements in the game, so make sure you tune in fro both days to maximize your output. Here are all the Bonuses:
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive XL Candy from catching Pokemon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- One additional Special Trade can be made, for a maximum of two per day.
- Trades made during the event will require 50% less Stardust.
While most bonuses are only active on December 16 and 17 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time, the trading bonuses will be active from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm local time on those days.
Featured Pokemon
A different set of Pokemon will feature on each event day—Saturday, December 16, 2023, and Sunday, December 17, 2023—from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time. All featured Pokemon have increased chances of appearing as Shiny.

December 2023 Community Day Special Research Story
As with every Pokemon Go Community Day event, there will be an event ticket for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) that will grant you an exclusive Special Research story.
This ticket will give you additional encounters with Pokemon, and it is non-refundable.
Event Timed Research
The Pokemon Go December 2023 Community event will feature event-exclusive Timed Research tasks for players. It will be available for the duration of the weekend and finish at 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
The Timed Research will award King’s Rocks, Magnetic Lures, and encounters with Pokemon previously featured in Community Days from 2022 and 2023.
Field Research, Stickers, and PokeStop Showcases
There will be additional bonuses for players with Field Research providing encounters with Pokemon featured in previous Community Days in 2023, Community Day 2023 Stickers, and PokeStop Showcases for players to participate in.
