Planet Coaster

Planet Coaster: Console Edition will be a Next-Gen Launch Title

After Planet Coaster: Console Edition was announced about 4 months ago, we have been patiently (sort of) waiting for a release date. It almost felt like it was not going to be happening this year at all, but luckily we have finally received all the details.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition will be available on release day for the Next-Gen consoles.

This means the game will be out for Xbox Series S/X on November 10, alongside versions for Xbox One and PS4. While the PS5 version will launch on November 12 in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea, and November 19 for all other countries.

According to the Frontier forums, both Microsoft and Sony will offer free upgrades to their next-gen consoles if you were to buy a current-gen version first.

You can do this in two ways. For those who own the digital copy, you can upgrade by simply logging onto the relevant store on your next-gen console, using the same account that was used to purchase the game for the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Or if you own a physical copy, you will be able to download a digital next-gen version on your Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5. The disc must be inserted at all times in order to authenticate the next-gen version. Therefore, you must have a next-gen console that can use discs.

Pre-Order Details

Two versions of the game are available, Standard and Deluxe. The Planet Coaster: Deluxe Edition contains the base game as well as the Magnificent Rides Collection and Classic Rides Collection.

Pre-orders are now open and will cost A$62.95 for the standard edition and A$77.95 for the deluxe in Australia. In the US, it will cost $49.99 for the standard edition and $59.99 for the deluxe edition.

If you pre-order before November 10, you will receive the coaster: Oswald’s Magnificent Machine.
