SQUARE ENIX has announced that the blockbuster title Marvel’s Avengers will be free to play on PlayStation, Steam, and Stadia later this month.
The ever-controversial multiplayer title, Marvel’s Avengers, has received a slew of updates since it was released back in 2020. There have been additional DLC gradually released across the past few months that add additional Avengers. The two that are available so far have focused on Kate Bishop and Hawkeye. An upcoming DLC will focus on Black Panther. With the announcement of a free weekend, SQUARE ENIX hopes to celebrate “the start of the summer blockbuster season” as well as mark the permanent launch of the multiple-hero feature. The multiple-hero feature essentially allows players to choose the same hero during online multiplayer sessions.
What Is Included In The Free Weekend?
The free weekend will encompass only PlayStation, Steam, and Stadia, with Xbox consoles receiving the free weekend “in the coming months.” Co-head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics, Scot Amos, said, “We’re working closely with our partners at Xbox to find the right time for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players.”
The free weekend will allow players to have complete access to Marvel’s Avengers and all its DLC. All players will need to do is download it from their platform of choice’s digital store. From then, they can play the game to their heart’s content completely for free until the weekend is over. After that, any players who purchase the game will be able to carry over any progress as well as any purchases.

When Does The Free Weekend Start?
