While Ubisoft has promised fans an open-world experience with the deep immersion of the Avatar series, many want to journey through the game with others. Well, there is good news for those wanting a companion with them in the world of Pandora. Below, we explain if Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has multiplayer.
Is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Multiplayer?
Yes, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does have multiplayer and can be played entirely in a two-player online co-op campaign. It is important to note that you cannot play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in local multiplayer, as it is exclusively an online mode. Of course, you can play it completely solo as well, but the option to play it in two-player co-op is a welcome addition.
The game will feature an online campaign co-op system similar to that of Ubisoft’s most recent titles, namely Far Cry 6. The new game allows both players to play as the natives of the planet Pandora, the N’avi, as they fight to defend their home against the tyranny of the RDA.
It’s not really surprising to see that the game features the campaign entirely in co-operative mode, as the last few action-adventure titles from Ubisoft have allowed the feature. As the developer tends to make well-built co-op experiences, it was a good choice to add it for Avatar.
Does Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Have Couch Co-op?
No, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does not have a local couch co-op mode. Its two-player mode can only be played online and requires PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass on consoles. Players looking to enjoy the game with a friend in the comfort of their home will unfortunately not be able to. However, this is not a surprising choice. Not only are more games online-only experiences, but the sheer size and detail of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora wouldn’t lend itself well to split-screen co-op.
