Fortnite users wanting extra security for their account may wonder how they can enable 2FA. Fortunately, there’s an easy answer.
2FA, also known as two-factor authentication or MFA (multi-factor authentication), protects your account from hackers. It requires a multi-step process to get into your account, with the second step requiring you to use an external app or source to log in. For example, you may set up 2FA to send an email or text or use a dedicated 2FA app to log into your account. It’s the most secure way to protect your account, and it’s definitely worth setting up. Fortunately, setting up two-factor authentication for Fortnite is incredibly easy and won’t take longer than a few minutes.
How to Turn on 2FA in Fortnite
To enable 2FA in Fortnite, you must log into your Epic Games Account, head to Password & Security under your Account Settings, and enable it. Unfortunately, you cannot turn on 2FA within Fortnite itself, and this must be done through your Epic Games account on your browser. Below are the full instructions on how to turn on 2FA in Fortnite:
- Log into your Epic Games account via your browser
- Go to Password & Security
- Scroll down until you find Two-Factor Authentification.
- Set up either the App, Email, or SMS Code 2FA
- Email is the easiest, but it’s whatever you prefer.
This is the only way to activate two-factor authentication for Fortnite. There isn’t a specific 2FA for Fortnite, as it is all done through your Epic Games account. Now that you’ve got your 2FA set up, make sure to check out our Games Hub for all our other guides.
