Saga from Alan Wake 2

How Long to Beat Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 promises fans a terrifying survival horror experience and a much lengthier campaign, but how long will it take to finish it?

Remedy Entertainment is known for its surreal story-driven games and has seen critical acclaim with the likes of Control and the original Alan Wake. Fortunately, fans are once again in for another delightfully bizarre treat with Alan Wake 2. However, many may be wondering just how long it will be, especially considering game length is a hot-button topic at the moment. Fortunately, we have the answer, and those hoping it will be a long game are in luck.

How Long Is Alan Wake 2?

It will take players 20 hours to complete Alan Wake 2’s main story and see the credits roll. It will take between 25 and 30 hours for those looking to complete absolutely everything the game has to offer. This was confirmed by the Creative Director, Sam Lake, on the Kinda Funny Podcast. Lake said that while Control was their longest game, their latest title “will be even longer, clocking in at 20 hours or more.” You can see the episode below.

Alan Wake 2 is by far the longest game in the series and the longest game Remedy Entertainment has ever made. The original Alan Wake was 10 hours long, making the sequel double its length. Quantum Break was similar, coming in at around 10 hours. However, Control was easily the longest, taking players around 12 hours to beat its main story. It also had DLC that added a few extra hours onto that runtime.

Of course, Alan Wake 2 also makes a shift into survival horror as opposed to the more action-orientated gameplay of the first game. So, fans can expect to see a lengthier, creepier adventure with the sequel. Make sure to check out our Games Hub for the latest news and guides on Remedy Entertainment’s latest horror game.
