Relaxing Sandbox Game, Grow: Song of the Evertree, Out This November

Grow: Song of the Evertree, the upcoming cosy adventure by developer Prideful Sloth and publisher 505 Games, has finally received a release date of this November.

Grow: Song of the Evertree received its announcement trailer back in June 2021 and has captivated us ever since. It is being developed by Australian developer Prideful Sloth, who are best know for their open-world adventure title, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. Similar to Grow: Song of the Evertree, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles was a relaxing adventure title. Since its launch back in July 2017, it has garnered favourable reviews. Polygon awarded it a 7/10, Eurogamer gave it a 3/5 and over on Steam 82% of the 2,506 reviews are positive. Cheryl Vance, a Game Designer at Prideful Sloth spoke about the world of Grow: Song of the Evertree and wanting the players to feel welcomed.

“We loved instilling a sense of peace in our players with Yonder, and we want to continue that feeling with Grow […] We wanted Alaria to be a place where the player feels welcomed. That the worlds they grow, and the towns they build, are unique and personal to them. That it becomes their own home away from home.”

What Is Grow: Song Of The Evertree?

According to Grow: Song of the Evertree’s Steam store page, it is a “breathtaking world-crafting sandbox, with life management and adventure elements”. Essentially, players will be tasked with rejuvenating the Evertree which once held all the Worlds of Alaria. By crafting new World Seeds using Alchemy, players will be able to generate entirely unique worlds. Once you’ve created a world, you can build a town using the large array of buildings at your disposal.

Additionally, players will be able to go fishing, catch bugs and help out their communities. Furthermore, players will be able to embark on exciting adventures to solve puzzles and spelunk in caves. While there is an overarching goal, all of it can be done at a relaxing pace. According to the press release, Grow: Song of the Evertree “offers a journey of creation, nurture, and community, all at a relaxing pace.” For fans of Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, or simply those looking for a more laidback experience amidst the various bombastic triple-A’s, Grow: Song of the Evertree might be for you. Here is some of what you can expect when it launches in November:
