Square Enix is happy to announce that a new story downloadable content (DLC), Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust, will launch next month in May.
Forspoken‘s story DLC, In Tanta We Trust, acts as a prequel to the main game and takes place 25 years prior to its events. In her quest to eliminate the Break from Athia once and for all, Frey is led by a mysterious voice to a place that transports her to the Purge of the Rheddig – the legendary battle that devastated Athia and drove the Tantas to madness. Alongside Tanta Cinta and armed with new magical abilities, Frey must uncover the truth and save Athia once again – while also trying to save herself.
Players will join Frey in the Forspoken DLC, In Tanta We Trust, as she fights alongside Tanta Cinta using her newly acquired magical abilities to unlock innovative combat strategies and execute devastating attack combos against the invading Rheddig forces. In unique, vertically-designed environments, players will experience Frey’s honed magic-enhanced parkour skills and take their scaling abilities to new heights.
What is Forspoken?
In Forspoken, players will assume the role of Frey Holland, an ordinary young woman who has been mysteriously transported to Athia, a fantastical land ravaged by an unknown force called the Break. Despite surviving this unusual occurrence and armed with a magical sentient bracelet called ‘Cuff’, Frey must now serve as Athia’s last hope and utilize her newfound magical abilities to save the land and find a way back home.
The open-world is beautiful but also cruel, with corrupted territories and twisted monsters to fight. Players can customise their arsenal of spells and engage in magical combat using a variety of playstyles. Frey’s abilities also include intuitive, magic-enhanced parkour that allows for seamless traversal of the open world.
Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust DLC will launch on May 26, 2023. Those who have purchased the Digital Deluxe edition of Forspoken will receive early access to the story DLC on May 23, 2023. Meanwhile, players who own the main game will have the option to purchase the Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust DLC separately.
