Square Enix is happy to announce that the beloved FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series, previously only available on Steam and mobile platforms, is launching digitally for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19, 2023.
For over 30 years, Square Enix has delighted generations of gamers and millions of players worldwide with the FINAL FANTASY series. Each mainline game in the series is a completely new experience and an ideal entry point to the series. These beloved Role-Playing adventures are built upon the benchmarks of spectacular visuals, highly imaginative worlds, rich stories, memorable characters, and technical and gameplay innovation, leading the industry and earning the highest accolades from around the world. Titles of the series have sold over 173 million units worldwide.
What is the FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series?
The FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series, which includes FINAL FANTASY I through VI, stays true to the retro design of the original games while incorporating quality-of-life upgrades to enhance the player experience.
With the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions, players have the ability to switch between the original and rearranged soundtracks, as well as choose between different in-game fonts. The game also offers additional boost features, such as the option to turn off random encounters and adjust experience gained multipliers.
All six games in the series can be purchased individually or as a complete bundle on PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop. The Nintendo Switch version can be pre-ordered now and includes two themed wallpapers with the purchase of each game or 12 wallpapers with the complete bundle. PlayStation 4 players who purchase the digital edition between April 19 and May 25, 2023, will receive a theme and avatar based on the game purchased, while those who purchase the complete bundle will receive all six themes and avatars.
