Fantasy Visual Novel, Arcadia Fallen, Launches On Steam Today
Developer Galdra Studios have released their fantasy roleplaying visual novel, Arcadia Fallen, onto Steam today with a Switch version coming soon.
Arcadia Fallen, the debut visual novel of indie developer Galdra Studios, started out as a Master’s Thesis project before heading to Kickstarter and receiving more than 240% of its original funding goal. Blending anime-inspired visuals with Scandinavian storytelling, this visual novel aims to enthral fantasy fans alike. Daniel Svejstrup Christensen, the producer at Galdra Studios spoke about their relief of finally getting their game out to their fans and the relief they felt.
“Making a game that’s about intimacy has been incredibly difficult, and you have no way of knowing if you succeeded, before players can experience the game for themselves. The reception so far has been overwhelming, and we’ve already heard from players who’ve laughed and cried during the game. It’s such a relief to not just hope, but know, you made something that special.”
Arcadia Fallen is a visual novel in which the player takes on the role of a young alchemist who has become bound to an illegal spirit. This inciting incident brings them into the throngs of a war between humanity and magic. By joining forces with a band of unlikely heroes they must both save themselves from their inner demons all while trying to save the world. You can expect to see a customisable protagonist, an intricate dialogue system that shapes your character and full voice acting. Here is a list of some of what you can expect:
