Experience the 80s in Japan With The Kids We Were, Coming to Steam

Gagex is pleased to announce that the cinematic Japanese adventure, The Kids We Were, is coming to Steam next week.

The game takes you through a nostalgic adventure set in the late Showa era (80s) in Japan. You’ll take on the role of Minato, a young boy who sets out on an unexpected summer adventure.

The Kids We Were is an exceptionally charming adventure game with a beautifully told heartfelt narrative, incredible writing and a delightful soundtrack. The voxel aesthetic perfectly combines the old and the new and showcases the beauty of Japan from a fresh perspective. You can check out our full review on the Nintendo Switch here.

It was chosen as one of the top 3 titles at the Google Play Indie Games Festival in 2020, won an Avex Award, and was also nominated for the Best Indies category of Google Play’s Best Games of 2020.

The Complete Edition, which was also released on the Switch, includes the full story available on mobile, plus a new bonus episode set after the events of the game. There are also tonnes of new collection items to find and, of course, Steam achievements.

The Kids We Were will launch on January 13, 2022, on Steam and will cost US$15.99. The game is also available on iOS, Google Play, and Nintendo Switch.
