Introduced by their head of publishing, Benoît Clerc, the French video game company, Nacon, had its annual showcase today.
Nacon Connect 2021 featured some projects gamers have already been looking forward to, including Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, Steelrising, and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. Furthermore, Nacon and Rig accessories showcased a range of new products for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong
Coming to you from Big Bad Wolf studios, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is an upcoming RPG and the newest entry from the Vampire: The Masquerade series. Originally a tabletop RPG, the franchise was given life on console earlier this millennium. The latest entry will release in February 2022, for PS4, PS5, XBOX Series S/X, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store. For more details, visit the official website.
Steelrising is an action-RPG game with adventuring, shooting and slashing elements. In an alternate history, King Louis XVI’s automata army is terrorising the citizens of France. Join the revolution as Aegis and fight against tyranny! The game is to be released in June 2022 on PS5, XBOX Series S/X and Steam.
Bob Cornelius Rifo, an Italian electronic musician who composed the OST for RiMS Racing, also presented the game at Nacon Connect 2021. This game is all about racing a motorbike at top speed on a track while vibing to electronic music.
Pre-orders have already started, and those who do will receive the exclusive Bahrain International circuit at release. Moreover, there will also be different purchasable editions. This will include foreign manufacturers such as European and Japanese motorcycle models. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
Developed by Daedalic Entertainment, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a cinematic stealth action-adventure game. Gollum is one of the most iconic characters from J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Despite having lived for centuries and witnessed countless historical events on Middle Earth, he is rarely displayed on the centre stage. Players will have the chance to play as Gollum and see what he saw from his perspective.
The developers have done their utmost to be faithful to the source material and to truly capture the vast LOTR fanbase by including even the most obscure references to the books. The game will release in Fall 2022, and you can follow its development on Twitter.
Rogue Lords, a collaboration between Leiken studios and Cyanide studios, is a roguelike RPG where you play as the Devil in a quest to spread corruption. The game will release on September 30, 2021, for PS4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Blood Bowl 3
Blood Bowl 3, by Cyanide Studios, is the latest entry in the American football-inspired franchise. Lead cinematic designer, Yoann Druhle, presented the game as a turn-based tactical game inspired by American football, set in the Warhammer Fantasy world.
The game’s story promises to have as much blood as humour in it, as well as sponsors and star players. Players will have a lot of room to create their own teams and make their own choices. The game launches in February 2022 on PS4, PS5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
WRC 10, by KT Racing, is a rally car racing game set in the FIA World Rally Championship. The game was presented by 9-time World Rally Champion, Sébastien Loeb, who is also the main protagonist in career mode. The game will release on September 2, 2021, on PS4, PS5, XBOX Series X/S, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is another racing game developed by KT Racing. The latest entry to the Test Drive Unlimited franchise promises to be a realistic depiction of racing on a 1:1 environment scale. The game’s story will put two racing clans against each other in the city of Hong Kong. Additionally, the player will be able to join either clan and climb up the ladder within the clan hierarchy. The ultimate goal is to overthrow the other clan.
The game is to be released on September 22, 2022, on PS4, PS5, XBOX Series X/S, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
There were plenty more games included in the showcase:
- The showcase also promoted a new free LC for the 2019 deck builder, Roguebook.
- Rugby 2022 will release in January 2022 on PS4, PS5, XBOX Series S/X, XBOX One and Steam.
- Skateboarder, Daewon Song, is the face of Creature Studio’s skateboarding game, Session. The game is already available as an XBOX game preview and Steam Early Access since 2019. The final release date is still to be determined.
Nacon also announced several games still under development. These include Ad Infinitum, Life Simulators, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, and RoboCop: Rogue City. There isn’t a lot of detail about these games, so stay tuned for more.
Nacon and Rig Accessories
Several new Nacon and RIG accessories were also showcased during the event. Some peripherals, like the Pro Compact customisable controller for XBOX, have already been launched. However, Nacon also announced the Revolution X pro controller for XBOX and PC.
For PlayStation, two new RIG headsets and a streaming microphone were also announced as well as a streaming microphone. Finally, Nacon will launch a brand new arcade stick, the DAIJA, officially licensed for PS5.
