Cloud Gardens Leaving Early Access & Launching on Xbox Today

Indie development studio Noio has announced that their relaxing sandbox title, Cloud Gardens, is leaving Early Access today and releasing on Xbox.

Cloud Gardens launches onto Steam back in September 2020 and has continued to grow ever since. During its time in Early Access, it saw quite the critical success, with 96% of its 912 reviews being positive. Now that it is leaving Early Access, it is receiving a huge new update. This new update, which will also be included in the Xbox version, features a whole slew of new features. These include:

  • A branching overworld map
  • 15+ new levels and 120+ new items
  • A freecam mode
  • Customisable skyboxes
  • Achievements
  • Full controller support
  • Language support for several langauges

The Creator of Cloud Gardens, Thomas van den Berg, spoke about how much the community has helped, and how much the game has grown.

What Is Cloud Gardens?

Cloud Gardens is a relaxing sandbox game all about infusing nature with urban decay. Players will utilise nature across several lo-fi scenes of urban decay and manufactured landscapes to create a harmonic combination of the two. There is a relaxing sandbox mode in which you’re free to do as you please. Alternatively, players can also go through the multi-chapter campaign in which they must follow set goals. Here is some of what you can expect in Cloud Gardens:

  • Solve low-stress puzzles in beautifully rendered enviroments
  • Build freely in the sandbox mode
  • Unlock various objects and plantlife as you progress
  • Share your creations online
  • Listen to the generative soundscapes by Amos Roddy as you play
