Publisher CFK has announced that the punishingly difficult side-scrolling adventure puzzle game, Brain Meltdown – Into Despair is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Brain Meltdown, by developer Onfire Games, has been in Steam Early Access since December 2020. During its Early Access phase, it has garnered a significant amount of positive reviews. Of the 116 reviews currently on Steam, an overwhelming 96% of them are positive. Now, after some time spent in Early Access, it is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Indie publisher CFK, who most recently released the point and click visual novel MazM: The Phantom of the Opera, will be assisting with publishing the game onto that platform.

What Is Brain Meltdown – Into Despair?
Brain Meltdown – Into Despair is a side-scrolling adventure puzzle game in which players take on the role of two characters and must navigate them around challenging levels. It sounds similar in design to the wonderful Forgotten Spirits which we reviewed a while back. Brain Meltdown – Into Despair’s Steam store page touts its punishing difficultly claiming that “you may play 2~4 hours and try 300~500 times”. It also features stunning hand-drawn visuals and animations as well as an impressively dramatic soundtrack. Here is some of what you can expect:

Release Date & Price
Brain Meltdown – Into Despair is coming to the Nintendo Switch this October. While no official date has been given yet, the publisher states that “the exact date will be announced soon”. It currently costs $3.99/£2.89 on Steam. According to the game’s Steam store page, the price will not adjust after the game is officially released.
