Blade Assault Launches Into Steam Early Access This June
Publisher NEOWIZ and developer Team Suneat are bringing their fast-paced 2D action rogue-lite platformer, Blade Assault, to Steam Early Access this June.
Blade Assault is an upcoming 2D action platformer with rouge-lite elements. It is launching into Early Access this June, and the developers plan to work closely with the community during its time there. The Early Access version will include four chapters from the main game, four bosses for you to fight, three different types of weapons to use and over 50 different items to collect. Suffice to say, on launch you’ll already be getting a fair amount of content to play around with. The developers have also announced that they will be bringing Blade Assault to PlayStation platforms as well as the Nintendo Switch at a later date. Team Suneat’s CEO, Jun Hyeong Kim, spoke about their excitement to work alongside players to full realise Blade Assault’s potential.
“We’ve loved working on Blade Assault and with NEOWIZ to bring our vision to life […] We feel that we’ve created something truly special and that players will adore our uniquely mutated cyberpunk world and the fast-paced combat we’ve built. We can’t wait to work with our fans to make Blade Assault even better in the weeks and months ahead.”
Blade Assault is a 2D action game set in a desolate sci-fi world. Players will take on the role of one of many unique characters, and must set out on a journey to seek justice for the Undercity. You’ll have to contend with mutants and the corrupt military of the super-elite sky city, Esperanza. Set across highly detailed pixel art backdrops, players will be able to hack and slash their way through leagues of enemies in slick, high-octane combat. Here’s a quick breakdown of just some of the things you can expect in Blade Assault:
Embark on an epic quest to bring justice to the Undercity
Take on your foes in slick, fast-paced combat across a 2D action rogue-lite platformer campaign
Oogle at the gorgeous pixel art that brings to life a dystopian city
Customise your weapons with various “Cores” and “Transform Upgrades” which will make every combat encounter feel unique
Meet NPCs along your journey, and uncover upgrades to unlock unique powers
