Winter update Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing’s Free Winter Update Has Just Landed!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was one of the leading games supporting people through the Covid-19 lockdowns throughout the world, and it was recently nominated for “Game of the Year” at The Game Awards. On top of this, Nintendo released a free winter update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons with a ton of festive items.

The new update adds two new seasonal events for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Turkey Day And Toy Day

Turkey Day (Thanksgiving) takes place on 26th November, where chef Franklin will host a gathering in the plaza. Players will have to help Franklin by collecting ingredients for him. In doing this you might even receive a reward!

Toy Day (Christmas) will be happening on December 24. Jingle will be visiting each island, and if you help him deliver some presents, you will also receive a gift in return. From December 1st to December 25th, there will be holiday-themed items at Nook’s Cranny, and clothing at the Able Sisters Shop. You might also notice some decorated trees around your island, and if you shake these ornaments may drop. This allows players to craft holiday furniture recipes.

What Else is New?

The winter update will also introduce new reactions and hairstyles which can be redeemed with Nook Miles at the Nook Stop terminal located in Resident Services.

Players who have already expanded their home to the largest size can apply for another home expansion. This time increasing home storage from 1600 to 2400 slots.

In addition to Turkey Day, and Toy Day, New Year’s Eve festivities will also happen in Animal Crossing between the 26th and 31st December. This will bring several festive items as well so stay tuned for that.
