Alan Wake 2’s review embargo is dropping in just a few days, giving fans only a small amount of time to consider pre-ordering it.
Alan Wake 2 is one of the most hotly anticipated titles of the year. Its incredible visuals, intriguing mystery, and the prestigious reputation of its developer, Remedy Entertainment, has fans excited. Fortunately, they won’t have to wait long for its release, but when can they expect reviews to drop? Below, we’ve explained exactly when the review embargo for Alan Wake 2 will lift.
When Does the Alan Wake 2 Review Embargo Lift?
The Alan Wake 2 review embargo is expected to lift on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 9 am ET, 6 am PT, or 2 pm BST. This is just 1 day before the game’s official release date on Friday, October 27. That means you’ll have just a short window of time to consider pre-ordering the game.
It is worth noting that this date is based on information given by Metacritic via their X account. They recently revealed that Alan Wake 2 reviews would be coming towards the end of this week. Typically, review embargos drop a day or 2 before the game’s launch. So, it is safe to assume that fans can expect reviews of Alan Wake 2 to come on October 26.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that reviews for Remedy’s previous game, Control, dropped on August 26, 2019, just a day before its release date of August 27, 2019. So, expect Alan Wake 2 to follow suit.
