Developed by Tricore Inc and published by Chorus Worldwide, the recently released Japanese horror game Yuoni is finally available on Xbox consoles.
Following its launch on Steam, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 last month, Yuoni will now finally grace the Xbox consoles. Xbox owners will now be able to experience the harrowing horror title all for themselves. The media outlet PSU gave the game a mostly glowing review, stating:
“Yuoni is one of those games that I believe will improve with the passage of time, and there’s enough enjoyment here to make it worth any horror fan’s time.”
Yuoni is set in 1990s Japan and puts players in the role of 10-year-old Ai. After becoming trapped in a living nightmare, Ai must attempt to evade the horrifying spirits out to get her. Yuoni will see players explore an interconnected house, school and hospital that has been corrupted by the horrors bleeding into the real world. In trying to survive, you must take advantage of each spirit’s weaknesses. For example, you can hold your breath – Death Stranding style – to sneak past blind enemies. Alternatively, you can run as fast as you can to avoid deaf ones. Additionally, while you’re trying to survive you must also uncover the harrowing secrets your classmate’s harbour. Here is some of what you can expect in Yuoni:
Explore beautiful yet corrupted enviroments set in 1990s Japan
Uncover a horrifying tale hiding within the crevices of your classmate’s minds
Try to evade the evil spirits hunting you down
Unlock a second path by completing the game to relive the horrors once again
