Volcanoids, the steampunk survival shooter by Volcanoid, has just released a massive new combat update that sees to shake up the game!
Volcanoids is an early access title that has garnered huge success on Steam, with over 100,000 downloads and counting. It sees you exploring a mysterious island full of secrets that just so happens to have an unrelenting volcano spewing lava whenever it feels like. Play alone, or with up to three of your buddies as you attempt to reclaim an island fraught with terror!
Using your upgradable drillship, you must explore the island, discover new blueprints for ship upgrades and equipment, resources to refine and build, and rare technologies, all while uncovering the island’s mysteries. Oh, and avoiding the lava. Never forget the lava.
The new update adds in a whole heap of new content, including new robots to fend off while you’re exploring, various new weapons including an SMG and sniper rifle, as well as new constructible turrets for your drillship home base.
These new features were added due to a special beta branch on steam, which allowed Volcanoids’ huge following to get hands-on with an early build. The team over at Volcanoid took in all the feedback and developed the features available to you right now.
Volcanoids has also seen massive success on TikTok with the developer reaching over 500,000 followers. He listens to commenter feedback and adapts the game to suit. This way, you always know that your voice will be heard, unlike the approach taken by some AAA game companies.
