What is Rocket League?

Rocket League was developed by Psyonix Studios out of North Carolina as a spiritual successor to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. The game features players using vehicles to play soccer against opponents with a twist, the cars are rocket-powered and allow players to fly through the air and score aerially.

Since its release in 2015, the game has amassed over 150 wins and nominations for Game of the Year. It has been a global phenomenon and has a massive 419,000 reviews on Steam, with 89% of those reviews being positive.

Psyonix was acquired by Fortnite studio Epic Games in 2019 and Rocket League was converted to a free-to-play game on all platforms by the studio in September of 2020.
