Merge Games, Jankenteam, and Sega have announced a release date for Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, coming to major platforms on June 24.

Alex Kidd has returned in a remake of the classic game from 1986, Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Originally revealed in IGN’s Summer of Gaming last year, the remake promises a lot of new features as well as art design.

promises new levels, new modes, a remastered soundtrack that also includes new music, as well as “striking new art and tighter, more fluid controls.” Check out the new release date gameplay trailer above to see it in action for yourself. There are also some new screenshots in the gallery below.

What is Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX?

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is a remake of the classic game with the same title from 1986. It is a platform game and will contain all the levels from the original and some new ones, expanding the lore of Alex Kidd. Miracle World DX will also include all of the original boss levels and a new Boss Rush Mode. This mode gives you the chance to experience nonstop boss action.

If you want to relive the classic game, you can with Retro Mode. While playing, switch between the enhanced graphics and a recreation of the original art style.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX will release on Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for US$19.99 on June 24.
