Pokemon Go: Psychic Spectacular 2023 Event Details

Psychic Spectacular returns to Pokemon Go this year, with Shiny Solosis appearing for the first time.

This is the fifth iteration of the event, and, as the name suggests, Psychic Pokemon will spawn more frequently between Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Here is everything you can expect:

Wild encounters

The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild in Pokemon Go:

  • Abra (Shiny Available)
  • Slowpoke (Shiny Available)
  • Drowzee (Shiny Available)
  • Exeggcute (Shiny Available)
  • Girafarig (Shiny Available)
  • Ralts (Shiny Available)
  • Meditite (Shiny Available)
  • Spoink (Shiny Available)
  • Gothita
  • Solosis (Shiny Available)
  • Elgyem (Shiny Available)

If you’re incredibly lucky, you might also encounter these Pokemon in the wild:

  • Galarian Ponyta (Shiny Available)

One-Star Raids

  • Unown P
  • Unown S
  • Unown I

Three-Star Raids

  • Alolan Raichu (Shiny Available)
  • Galarian Mr. Mime (Shiny Available)
  • Hisuian Braviary (Shiny Available)

Five-Star Raids

  • Genesect (Burn Drive) – until September 23 at 10:00 am local time (Shiny Available)
  • Raikou – starting on September 23 at 10:00 am local time (Shiny Available)
  • Entei – starting on September 23 at 10:00 am local time (Shiny Available)

Eggs

The following Pokémon will hatch from 7 km Eggs. Solosis hatched from Eggs will have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon than Solosis found in the wild

  • Solosis (Shiny Available)

Timed Research

During the Pokemon Go event, there will be a Timed Research focused on Curveball Throws. This will be completely free and completing the tasks will earn encounters with Solosis.

Field Research Task Encounters

As always, there will be special Psychic Spectacular Field Research tasks and completing them will earn you encounters with the following Pokemon:

  • Kadabra
  • Galarian Slowpoke (Shiny Available)
  • Wobbuffet (Shiny Available)
  • Metang
  • Solosis (Shiny Available)
  • Inkay (Shiny Available)

If you complete certain Field Research tasks, you may also earn Mega Energy for these Pokemon:

  • Mega Alakazam
  • Mega Slowbro
  • Mega Gardevoir
  • Mega Medicham

Event Bonuses

The event bonuses for Psychic Spectacular are a little disappointing compared to previous Pokemon Go events and only provide increased XP for successfully catching Pokemon with Curveball Throws.

Collection Challenge

There will be Psychic Spectacular Collection Challenges, which include Mega Energy for certain Psychic-type Pokémon, Stardust, and XP if you complete the challenges.

Be on the lookout for Showcases at select PokéStops during the Psychic Spectacular event where you can enter Spoink!
