Pokemon Go is starting its Halloween festivities with a bang, offering debuts for new Pokemon, extra candy catch bonuses, and limited-time research.
Each year, Pokemon Go provides Trainers with a top Halloween experience, and with this only being Part 1, we can’t wait to see what else is in store. Nonetheless, here are all the details for Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1:
Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 Event Details
When Does Pokemon GO Halloween 2023 Part 1 Start?
The Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 event will occur from Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 10:00 am to Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:00 am local time.
This means people from New Zealand will have access to the event almost a whole day before those in the United States.
Pokemon Debuts
Greavard, the Ghost Dog Pokemon, and its evolution will be available to catch in Pokemon Go for the very first time.
Trainers can use 50 Greavard Candy to evolve Greavard into Houndstone.
Wild Encounters
These Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 Event, with Shiny Phantump being available for the first time.

Paid Timed Research
A Pokemon Go Timed Research will be available when the event starts, and Trainers can purchase the ticket for US$5.00 / AU$7.99 from the in-game shop.
Completing the research tasks will provide rewards, including a Halloween-themed avatar pose and encounters with Ghost-type Pokemon.
The Timed Research expires on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 8:00 pm local time. This means all rewards must be claimed by this time as well. Please note that the Halloween Timed Research ticket will only be available in the in-game shop until October 30, 2023, at 8:00 pm local time.
Timed Research
The Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 event will feature two event-exclusive Timed Research tasks for players. They will both be available from October 19 at 10:00 am to October 31, 2023, at 8:00 pm local time.
Both Timed Research will centre around Ghost-type Pokemon, with one rewarding players with encounters with Greavard, among other rewards, and the other, an encounter with Spiritomb.
Those who are lucky might be able to grab themselves a Shiny Spiritomb as well.
Event Bonuses
The Event Bonuses will centre around additional Candy for catching and hatching Pokemon. Here are all the Bonuses:
- Additional Candy for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws.
- Additional Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws.
- Trainers level 31 and above will receive additional Candy XL for hatching Eggs.
- 2× Candy for hatching Pokémon.
Field Research task encounters
Field Research Tasks that promote special Ghost-type encounters will also be available. On top of the regular rewards, such as Pokeballs, these Pokemon will be available:

- Phantump (Shiny Available)
Raids
With any big Pokemon Go event, unique Pokemon will appear in Raids, and Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 is no different. The following Pokemon will be appearing in raids:

Three-Star Raids
- Gengar (Shiny Available)

Five-Star Raids

Mega Raids
- Mega Gengar (Shiny Available) – Available until October 20 at 10:00 am local time.
- Mega Banette (Shiny Available) – Available starting on October 20 at 10:00 am local time.
Eggs
If you equip an egg during the event, you can hatch the following Pokemon from 7 km Eggs:
- Munchlax (Shiny Available)
- Riolu (Shiny Available)
- Galarian Yamask (Shiny Available)
New Avatar Items and Stickers
The following avatar items will be available to purchase in the Pokemon Go In-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends.
- Yamask Mask
- Cofagrigus Costume
- Cofagrigus Head
- Phantump Head
- Greavard Wig
Trainers can also obtain event-themed stickers by spinning PokeStops, opening Gifts, or purchasing them from the in-game shop.
Pokemon GO Web Store Halloween Bundle
The Pokemon Go Web Store will also feature two Halloween bundles for players to enjoy. These will be available from October 19 at 10:00 am to October 31, 2023, at 8:00 pm local time.
For US$4.99, Trainers will receive 10 Premium Raid Passes, two Star Pieces, and two Lucky Eggs. For US$9.99, Trainers will receive 10 Super Incubators, five Incubators, and two Incense. You can check out these bundles on the Pokemon GO Web Store.
Event Bundles
The Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 will feature three halloween bundles in the in-game shop.
- For 495 PokeCoins, you will get three Remote Raid Passes, one Star Piece, and one Lucky Egg.
- For 725 PokeCoins, you will get 10 Premium Raid Passes, two Star Pieces, and two Lucky Eggs.
- For 1550 PokeCoins, you will get 10 Super Incubators, five Incubators, and two Incense.
PokeStop Showcases
The Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 event will feature Shuppet, Banette, or Greavard in Pokestop showcases.
Ticket of Treats Paid Timed Research
The Pokemon Go Ticket of Treats Paid Timed Research is avaiable now, and Trainers can purchase the ticket for US$5.00 / AU$7.99 from the in-game shop.
The Ticket of Treats is a special ticket that provides access to four separate Timed Research opportunities during events in October.
The Timed Research will last beyond the event and will expire on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 8:00 pm local time. This means all rewards must be claimed by this time as well.
Lavender Town Music
During the Pokemon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 event a remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing nightly.
