New World: Life Staff Weapon Guide

The Life Staff is arguably one of the best available weapons in New World, so understanding and utilising the weapon to his full potential is pivotal in group compositions.

There are numerous weapons to choose from in New World. This could become a little confusing for new players, especially considering there are three different magic weapons. The Life Staff is the best weapon for healers and to apply Nature-based damage.

To activate the potential of the Life Staff, players will need to pick the right skills and abilities in the Mastery Tree.

All Life Staff Skills

The Life Staff is one of three magical weapons in New World and is primarily used as a support role due to the number of abilities centred around healing. Fortunately, if configured correctly, it can provide a decent amount of damage as well.

The Life Staff scales entirely off Focus, so investing your points in this attribute will be the most effective strategy.

Here is the full list of available skills in both Mastery Trees; Healing and Protector.

Healing Mastery Tree

The Healing Mastery Tree is built entirely around healing your allies. This can be utilised in the form of the three active skills; Divine Embrace, Sacred Ground, and Splash of Light.

There are also plenty of Passive Skills to choose from, with “Absolved” being an absolute must pick for any Life Staff user.

Protector Mastery Tree

The Protector Mastery Tree is designed completely around protecting your allies, as the name suggests. This can be utilised in the form of the three active skills; Orb of Protection, Light’s Embrace, and Beacon.

Best PvE Life Staff Build

A Life Staff PvE build needs to provide a good balance between damage output and healing for it to be effective. Here are the must-have skills for any player in New World:

  • Sacred Ground: This is a Area of Effect (AoE) healing ability that will provide constant healing to you or anyone standing in the circle.
  • Orb Of Protection: This is also a must pick as it can provide some damage to the energy as well as providing fortify and healing to anyone.
  • Light’s Embrace: This skill is a must pick due to the 30% extra heal weapon damage heal. It’s effective in almost any circumstance.

These are the Passive Skills that should be selected as well:

  • Absolved
  • Blissful Touch
  • Holy Ground (Add-on to Sacred Ground)
  • Blessed (Add-on to Sacred Ground)
  • Revitalize
  • Sacred Protection
  • Intensify

Best PvP Life Staff Build

For PvP, the Life staff switches its focus as there is no need to be a one-man army. Instead, you will be the one keeping the army alive. Here are the must-have PvP skills for any player in New World:

  • Sacred Ground: Once again, Sacred Ground must be picked in all circumstances.
  • Light’s Embrace: This can be very effective as a single-targeted heal in War.
  • Beacon: This is preferred over Orb of Protection in war for the slightly increased healing effects.

Splash of Light can also be an effective ability in War for those who don’t want the increased pressure of aiming at people to keep them alive. Rather, the ability heals all members in your group (within 100m) at once.

These are the Passive Skills that should be selected as well:

  • Absolved
  • Blissful Touch
  • Holy Ground (Add-on to Sacred Ground)
  • Blessed (Add-on to Sacred Ground)
  • Desperate Speed
  • Revitalize
  • Sacred Protection
  • Intensify
  • Bend Light
  • Protector’s Touch
  • Protector’s Strength
  • Spirits United
  • Inspire (Add-on to Light’s Embrace)
  • Connection (Add-on to Light’s Embrace)
  • Infused Light (Add-on to Beacon)
  • Radiance’s Blessing (Add-on to Beacon)

These builds are what we find most effective. However, we encourage you to find swap out skills and see what works best for you. If you think you have a better build for the Life Staff then let us know in the comments below.
