Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may just be one of the biggest PlayStation exclusives after its enormous file size was revealed by leakers.
Fans hoping that the latest entry into the Marvel’s Spider-Man series will be bigger and better than the last can worry no more. The hotly anticipated sequel’s file size was recently leaked, showing off just how big the game truly is.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 File Size
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a file size of 98GB on PS5. This was confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, in which the account Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Countdown posted an image of the Limited Edition Console Bundle Retail Box, which featured the game’s size on it (see below).
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was 53.76GB on PS5, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was 50GB on the same platform. That means the sequel is around 48GB bigger, almost double the size, than both of those games.
However, this isn’t surprising, as the game boasts an open world twice the size of both Miles Morales and the original game. While it is around the same length as the first game, it has also had a visual upgrade.
Additionally, other recent PlayStation 5 exclusives have had around the same file size. Final Fantasy 16, for example, had a file size of 91GB at launch, and God of War: Ragnarok came in around 86GB on PS5.
Of course, the leaked Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s file size is greater than both of those, making it the biggest PlayStation exclusive of all time.
You will also be able to pre-load the game before the official launch on Friday, 20 October 2023, so long as you pre-order any edition. This is almost a necessity with the game being so big and with potential pre-launch patches being released.
