Electronic Arts and EA SPORTS have announced that the official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship, F1 23, will be available next month.
F1 23 is a revamp from last year’s title of the same name and includes every team, driver, and circuit for the 2023 season, as well as the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix and Lusail International Circuit, Qatar. Max Verstappen, the back-to-back World Champion, is the cover star for the digital-exclusive F1 23 Champions Edition, which also features the return of the epic story mode Braking Point.
What New Features Are in F1 23?
In its latest instalment, Braking Point takes a daring leap forward as it delves into the careers of two aspiring racers: Aiden Jackson and Devon Butler, who have now joined forces as teammates for the Konnersport Racing Team. This fledgling organisation is determined to make its mark in the highly competitive world of F1 racing, where it will face off against established teams and drivers. With new characters, rivalries, and challenges on the horizon, the return of Braking Point is a huge positive for fans of the game series.
Furthermore, F1 23‘s handling has been upgraded, resulting in more predictable behaviour, and new vehicle physics gives the cars better traction when braking, accelerating, and cornering. In addition, Precision Drive controller technology will give pad players better control and confidence in crucial race moments.
F1 23 introduces a new progression system, allowing players to level up by completing challenges to unlock car upgrades, new liveries, race suits, and helmets. The game also features a new safety rating system that links online and offline play, encouraging drivers to race cleanly — I’ve definitely seen my fair share of crashes on TikTok!
What Does F1 23 Release?
F1 23 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via EA App (previously Origin), Epic Games Store, and Steam.
On release, there will be two F1 23 editions available to purchase; Standard Edition and Champions Edition. Players will also be rewarded extensively if they pre-order the game ahead of its June 16th launch.
F1 23 Standard Edition vs Championship Edition: What is the Difference?
The two F1 23 editions are the Standard Edition and the Championship Edition. The F1 23 Champions Edition is a digital-exclusive version that contains the following items:

- Braking Point 2 Icons and Vanity Item Pack
- Four new My Team Icons
- An XP Boost
- F1 World Bumper Pack

The Standard Edition will include the base game, which features dual entitlement on consoles. For example, purchasing the game on PlayStation will give you both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions. However, if the Standard Edition is preordered, players will receive F1 World Starter Pack and 5000 PitCoin at launch on June 16, 2023. You will not receive 3 days of Early Access like the Championship Edition.
