iam8bit and Skybound Games have teamed up with Chucklefish to release a special Nintendo Switch physical edition for Eastward.
Eastward is a stunning game that we labelled as “Retro Perfection”. Pixpil’s debut title is an indie action-adventure role-playing game that pays homage to Zelda and Earthbound, the retro classics we played under the sheets as children after the lights went out. It not only cleverly utilises 90s-era Ghibli-style animation and beautifully hand-crafted pixel art to create a world full of life but also weaves in a gorgeously composed 8-bit soundtrack to bring even more colour to an already vibrant universe. Eastward Different Editions
The physical edition comes with three different tiers of packages. The first is just your standard package and includes an exclusive chibi sticker. The second is the Collector’s Edition. This includes an official Eastward Board Game for 2-4 players, designed by Erich Meyr. It also includes a Nintendo Switch cover sheet illustrated by Laura Bifano. The final edition is a Vinyl Soundtrack. This version comes with the board game and, of course, a vinyl soundtrack. However, this edition seems like it doesn’t come with the game. Both the Collector’s Edition and the Vinyl Soundtrack are limited to 3,000 copies each.
