Hades-Inspired Colourful Open-World Game, Arto, Needs Your Support on Kickstarter

Arto, a game developed by OrionGames, is looking for your help on Kickstarter. Fans of Hades and Hyper Light Drifter will want to check out this colourful, fast-paced, open-world RPG.

It has been in development for three years and is seeking support to help complete its final act and begin the optimization stage. The developers have stressed that they want Arto to be as polished as possible before launching it on Steam and consoles.

Of course, if you’re looking for other Kickstarter projects to back, there is the wonderful Shashingo, a photography game that lets you explore a vibrant Japanese city while you learn Japanese.

You can check out the official reveal trailer for Arto below. Keep reading for more info on the game and how you can support it:

What Is Arto?

Much like the wonderful Chicory: A Colourful Tale, Arto allows players to paint the world as they explore its gorgeous non-linear world. There are six unique art styles to experiment with spread across six biomes, including pixel art, watercolour, and more. Each biome has its own set of enemies to fight and mechanics to uncover.

Of course, when you’re not exploring, painting, and completing main and side quests, you’ll be fighting a variety of enemies. The combat in Arto looks like a mix between Hades and Devil May Cry, with a splash of Picasso for good measure. It’s frantic, frenetic, and fluid, allowing for precise movements and action-packed moments.

Here is everything you can expect to see in Arto:

  • Explore a non-linear open-world set across six biomes, each with its own unique art style, enemy types, and mechanics.
  • Use five different weapons in Hades-inspired fast-paced combat.
  • Experiment with over 80 spells across your adventure.
  • Upgrade Liv with new abilities, weapon skills, and upgrades.
  • Solve navigational and platforming puzzles.
  • Make difficult choices and develop Liv’s personality through branching dialogue trees.

How to Support Arto

You can support Arto right now by heading to its Kickstarter page and backing one of its various tiers. The cheapest tier that’ll get you the game is the Sketch tier for $20/£17, which gets you a digital copy of the game, digital wallpaper, and a Backer role in their discord.

You can also get some physical goods, including a plushie of Sari. However, to get this, you’ll have to back the $220/£183 tier.

If Arto sounds interesting to you, then you’ve got until March 9th to pledge your support and get it completely funded. You can also wishlist it over on its official Steam page.
