Readyverse Studios has unveiled their first game at SXSW Austin titled Open, a AAA metaverse experience that leverages web3 technology.
This new title is bringing the Ready Play One franchise to the metaverse and even involves Ernest Cline, the creator of Ready Player One, and Dan Farah, the Ready Player One film producer.
What is Open?
Open is a third-person battle royale game that will be the first experience in what is called The Readyverse. The game will allow players to explore a world with a Ready Player One biome and partake in competitive experiences born from both the book and film. Open is based around NFTs, so it will feature recognizable IPs, with Reebok and DeLorean appearing in the teaser trailer.
Similar to Ready Player One, players will compete in game-show-styled, multi-round collaborative, and competitive game modes to emerge as the last person standing. You’ll have to make allies, plan strategies, and venture through nostalgic worlds as you compete in a variety of different genres, such as shooting and racing games.
