miHoYo, the global interactive entertainment developer and publisher, has announced that Honkai Impact 3rd is releasing version 4.9. The latest update, titled Outworld Traveler, will feature a crossover with its other open-world action RPG, Genshin Impact, on July 9, 2021.
Players will meet the Genshin Impact character, Fischl, who will appear as Prinzessin der Verurteilung in Honkai 3rd. They will experience an adventure of technology and magic in the event, Outworld Quest.
Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd
Honkai Impact 3rd is set in a modern world corrupted by the mysterious energy known as Honkai. The player leads a fledgling resistance of Valkyries, brave girls carrying anti-Honkai genome, in a fight against the spreading Honkai disaster.
Genshin Impact is an open-world action-adventure game, released worldwide on September 28, 2020, across multiple platforms. Players assume the role of a Traveller, who travels through the vast magical continent of Teyvat in search of their lost sibling. During their adventures, they will meet a diverse cast of characters, defeat powerful enemies, and dive deeper into the mysteries of the world.
New character Prinzessin der Verurteilung!
As previously mentioned, the popular character, Fischl, from Genshin Impact is joining Honkai 3rd’s cast as Prinzessin der Verurteilung. Players can claim this SP battlesuit for free at their first login. In a previous behind-the-scenes video, the Honkai Impact 3rd team showed how they imported Fischl faithfully from one game to the other while giving her a Honkai twist.
Incidentally, Prinzessin der Verurteilung will be the first archer in Honkai Impact 3rd. Her gameplay is built around aiming for weak spots. This allows players to increase damage and hit feedback by firing at enemy weak spots. She can quick-fire in conjunction with Oz and cast QTE on the field to assist teammates. Aside from Fischl, another popular character, Keqing from Genshin Impact, will also make a guest appearance in the crossover story. She is playable in certain story battles in addition to guiding players in the story.
Crossover event quests and rewards
Outworld Quest, where technology and magic co-exist, is the collaborative project between major in-game factions, Schicksal and Anti-Entropy. Players can freely explore maps, interact with NPCs and objects, and unlock fun subquests with chibi characters. Furthermore, Kiana’s true identity will be revealed in the upcoming Chapter XXV. Players can complete certain missions and challenges to earn Theresa’s crossover outfit, Heat of Trifolium, the Outworld Quest Emblem, stigma, fragments, and Crystals.
From July 12 to August 12 of summer 2021, Honkai Impact 3rd is partnering with renowned milk tea brand, Kungfu Tea, in America and Canada. Players can order the milk tea for chances of winning awesome prizes, including an iPhone 12, an exclusive keychain, and an exclusive stigma.
The version 4.9 update: Outworld Traveler will be released on iOS, Android, and PC on July 9, 2021. More details on the crossover event will be revealed soon.
