Cult of the Lamb has received a number of updates since it first launched, including one all about sex. These updates have all significantly improved the game, making it a standout indie title worth picking up. Fortunately, if you were hoping that a new update for Cult of the Lamb would add local co-op, you’re in luck. However, the Unholy Alliance update is not just adding co-op but a slew of other amazing features we explain below.
Everything You Need to Know About Cult of the Lamb: Unholy Alliance Update
The Cult of the Lamb Unholy Alliance update is launching on August 12 for all platforms and will be completely free. It is adding a number of new features, including local co-op, new follower traits, structures, the Knucklebones Arena, additional relics and tarot cards, quests, and quality-of-life changes. Players will simply need to download the update when it becomes available to access all this new content. We’ve broken down everything new coming in the Unholy Alliance update for Cult of the Lamb below.
Cult of the Lamb Local Co-Op
The Unholy Alliance update for Cult of the Lamb is adding a local co-op mode. In this mode, the second player will take on the role of the Goat while the first player plays as the Lamb. All content currently available in the game will be accessible in the local co-op mode. Players will be able to battle and tend to their followers together.
Additionally, already existing minigames, such as fishing and Knucklebones, will be adapted to accommodate two players. You’ll also be able to use unique tarot cards, relics, weapons, and curses together, some of which have been designed around cooperative play. It’s a fully-fledged mode and one that we suspect many fans will enjoy.

Cult of the Lamb Unholy Alliance New Follower Traits
Several new follower traits are being introduced to Cult of the Lamb in the Unholy Alliance update. These include the following:
- Being insomniacs
- Capable of breaking their criminal friends out of prison
- Snoring unbelievably loudly
- Becoming cursed
- Entering a catatonic state after the trauma of a resurrection
- Be polyamorous
- Be jealous of you if you marry someone else

Additionally, followers who are sent on missions have the chance to return with new traits. This includes being inspired by their success or left debilitated with fear thanks to the horrors of what they’ve experienced.
Cult of the Lamb New Structures and Knucklebones Arena
The Cult of the Lamb Unholy Alliance update also introduces two new structures: Nursery and the Knucklebones arena. The first of these, the nursery, allows the player to care for up to three babies. You’ll need to tend to their needs, including cleaning up their poop. Once they reach 14, they’ll be sent out into your community, and you can replace them with a new baby.
The Knucklebones arena allows you to play a match of Knucklebones with one of your followers. You can only have one of these in your cult, and you can only play one match a day. Each match’s difficulty will be determined by the level of the follower you’re fighting. If you beat them, they will level up instantly, proving to be a very worthy reward.

Cult of the Lamb New Relics and Tarot Cards
The Unholy Alliance update for Cult of the Lamb is also adding brand-new relics and tarot cards. These have been designed to incorporate the cooperative element, thus encouraging new playstyles. We’ve listed some of the new relics and tarot cards below so you can get an idea of what to expect.
- The Ashes of the Mercurial Mun Relic – This relic sets off a series of explosives around both players, damaging nearby enemies
- Wishbone of the Marbais Relic – This relic will make one player invincible for 10 seconds if but only if the other player takes damage
- Rivals Tarot Card – This tarot card will increase both players’ weapon damage by two so long as they fight far apart from one another
- Bonds of Battle Tarot Card – This tarot card brings the Lamb and Goat together to shoot a beam of unholy energy that damages enemies caught in its line of fire
