Team Deathmatch is pretty much the go-to mode for multiplayer first-person shooters. Naturally, players were expecting to see it in XDefiant. However, while the game features plenty of other traditional modes like Hardpoint and Escort, it seems to lack the one mode everyone wants. Does XDefiant Have a Team Deathmatch Mode?
Yes, XDefiant is getting a Team Deathmatch mode in the next few weeks. While there wasn’t one at launch, Ubisoft has confirmed that Team Deathmatch will be added to the game. In an interview with IGN, XDefiant’s executive producer, Mark Rubin, explained that after much demand from fans, they will be adding a Team Deathmatch mode.
Rubin said, “One of the things players have been asking for, in the two-and-a-half weeks that we’ve been live, is a TDM mode. We’ll be seeing it in a couple of weeks.” Of course, it’s very likely that a Team Deathmatch mode was always on the cards, especially considering how popular it is in other games like Call of Duty. Interestingly, the Team Deathmatch mode was not included in the official Season One trailer, indicating it’s likely coming before it drops on July 2, 2024.
Of course, for right now, players still have plenty of other modes to enjoy. Team Deathmatch will likely inject the game with even more players, although it seems to be doing incredibly well without it. Prior to this announcement, Ubisoft was promoting the Hotshot game mode, which is similar to Kill Confirmed, as the game’s primary mode.
