XDefiant: How to Unlock the DedSec Faction

Players can choose to play different factions from various Ubisoft titles. Each of the different factions has a unique playstyle that encourages experimentation in matches. Whether you wish to be the Cleaners from The Division and focus on point control, or play as the Libertad and heal yourself and your team, each faction brings something new to the table. How to Unlock the DedSec Faction in XDefiant

To unlock the DedSec faction in XDefiant, you must complete the Major Challenge associated with it or purchase it with XCoins. Both of these methods are very straightforward, with one being more time-consuming than the other. However, once you unlock DedSec, they are yours to play as forever. Below, you can find the different options to unlock the DedSec faction in XDefiant:

• Major Challenge: Players can work towards completing the current Major Challenge in XDefiant to unlock DedSec. The challenge requires players to earn a whopping 700,000 Profile XP. While it is a lot, players can easily earn this amount by completing different challenges, like the Daily Challenges, which offer increments of 5,000/7,500/10,000 XP.
• Purchasing the Faction: Players who may not have the time and want to play as DedSec as soon as possible can just buy them. The faction can be bought for 1,000 XCoins in the game. The cost to get the correct amount of the currency is US$9.99 / £7.99 / AU$14.95. However, for that cost, you can only play as one character, Sebastian. Players will need 2,500 XCoins to buy all three characters from DedSec. As a separate purchase, players can buy the XDefiant Founder’s Pack for US$19.99 /£15.99 /AU$29.95.

Players should note that if you completed the Ubisoft Connect challenge during the beta for XDefiant, the DedSec faction should be automatically unlocked. So be sure to check the factions page to see if you have finished the challenge.

DedSec Faction Abilities in XDefiant

The DedSec faction has abilities that revolve around hacking the enemy team. Players looking to mess with their opponents will feel right at home while playing as DedSec. Below, you can find the abilities that DedSec has in XDefiant:

• Lockout (Ultra): Prevent enemies from using their Ability & Ultra in an area of effect. It is great for ensuring that no abilities harm your team and also blocks any your opponent from using their minimap.
• Hijack (Activated Ability): Hack enemy-deployed abilities and make them your own. This will help you turn the tide of battle by surprising your foe and giving you the upper hand.
• Spiderbot (Activated Ability): Deploy a Spiderbot that will target and stun the nearest foe via facehug. As encounters in the game can be fast-paced, having the Spiderbot stun a foe will let you have the one-up on any foe that falls victim to it.
• Fabricator (Passive Trait): After a device is deployed, the Fabricator prints a new one. Having this as a passive helps to create an almost endless supply of devices, ensuring you have another means of lethal damage always at the ready.
