To unlock the 686 Magnum in XDefiant, players must earn 5 Quick-Swap kills. Quick-Swap Kills are where players swap their current weapon to their other weapon very fast and kill an enemy with that weapon. Say you have the M4A1 and the M9 pistol; if you have the M4A1 equipped and quickly change to the M9 and kill your opponent, that counts as a Quick-Swap kill.
Five of these are needed for the 686 Magnum challenge to be complete, and no specific mode is going to make this challenge easier or harder. It is recommended, however, to have a lighter weapon such as an SMG as your Primary. By doing so, you can swap faster as well as move faster around the map. When it comes to your Secondary Weapon, equipping the 93R is going to help you a lot. The weapon deals great damage and shoots in burst fire, which shreds your enemies.
