Players can slide cancel in XDefiant, although it’ll take a little practice to get it right. Here’s how you pull off the popular move.
Slide canceling is a tough-to-master movement technique that causes players to move unpredictably throughout the map. It makes you significantly harder to hit and can also get you around the map quicker. Fortunately, you can use this technique in XDefiant, although it’s a little different from how you do it in COD.
How to Slide Cancel in XDefiant
To slide-cancel in XDefiant, you must press the jump button while performing a slide. It is easy to slide, as it just requires you to sprint and then press the crouch button. Once you’ve jumped mid-slide, you’ll cancel the sliding animation, seeing you get back to your feet quickly. You can chain these together to move quickly and unpredictably, making you hard to hit and allowing you to move around at great speeds. We’ve broken down exactly how to do a slide cancel in XDefiant below:
- Start sprinting
- While mid-sprint, press the crouch button to slide
- Then, press the jump button while you’re in the middle of the sliding animation
- Repeat these steps to slide cancel continuously

You can slide cancel regardless of which Faction or character you choose to play as. The only thing you’ll need is quick reaction times. Unfortunately, as the Practice Zone is currently unavailable, your best bet is to practice it in Unranked matches. That’s everything you need to know about slide canceling in XDefiant.
