Wuthering Waves: Should You Pick the Male or Female Rover?

Players must choose between a male or female Rover at the beginning of Wuthering Waves, but which should you choose? Here’s what you need to know.

Most RPGs let you choose between various genders, typically just male or female. Wuthering Waves is no different, as you can either be a male or female Rover. However, many may be wondering if either option has an impact on the story or even gameplay. Fortunately, it’s a lot less complicated than that.

Should You Pick the Male or Female Rover in Wuthering Waves?

It makes absolutely no difference whether you pick the male or female Roverin Wuthering Waves. Both play and function the exact same way and will experience the same story moments. The only difference between them is their appearance, both in terms of clothes and gender. So, feel free to pick whichever suits you best, as there are no negative consequences to either.

Of course, you may want to base your choice on the overall look of the character, as well as their voice actor. Both options have different voice actors, so that could sway you one way or the other. We chose the female Rover in Wuthering Waves, as we preferred her voice actor and more complex design. There is no shade to the male Rover, but he looks a little generic, in our opinion.

Regardless of which you pick, the Rover will only really ever have an impact during major story moments and the occasional fully rendered cutscene. Outside of these rare instances, it’s up to you who you have in your party. You can even choose to leave the Rover out entirely. So, don’t worry too much about your choice, as it has very little impact on the overall experience. That’s everything you need to know about picking the male or female Rover in Wuthering Waves.
