The First Descendant lets you level up your Descendants and Mastery Rank, but what is the max level you can achieve? Here’s what you need to know.
The First Descendant has two aspects for players to level up: their Descendants and their Mastery Rank. Each has its own max level, which players can reach fairly easily to become overpowered. Of course, knowing what the maximum level is before jumping in is a smart idea. It’ll let you know how close you are before you can move on to your next Descendant. Below, we’ve explained the max level for each aspect.
The First Descendant Max Level
The max level for your Descendants in The First Descendant is 40, and the max level for your Mastery Rank is 30. This will likely change in the future as more players reach these level caps. This is very typical for multiplayer games, especially live service titles, which The First Descendant falls into. We will be sure to update this article when it is changed.
Players will level up their Descendants by completing missions with that Descendant. Every time you level up a Descendant, their HP and shield capacity will increase making them more effective in combat, and their skills will become more powerful. Similarly, your Mastery Rank is tied to completing missions, leveling up your Descendants, and increasing your weapon proficiency. Of course, you’ll need to head to the Prime Hands terminal in Albion in order to officially level it up.

To reach the max level for both your Descendants and Mastery Rank in The First Descendant, we recommend you grind out missions involving huge waves of enemies such as Collection or Seizure. Additionally, grinding bosses will also net you a lot of experience points as well as more powerful weapons, which you can use to take on tougher missions. That’s everything you need to know about The First Descendant’s max level. For more guides just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
