Amorphous Materials are a key resource in unlocking new Descendants in The First Descendant. However, opening them can be surprisingly tricky.
There’s a lot you’ll need in order to unlock new Descendants in The First Descendant. However, one of the more elusive materials is the Amorphous Material. That’s because, even if you do get your hands on it, the actual reward you need is hidden within it. Fortunately, the process to unlock it isn’t ridiculously complicated, but it does require a little bit of effort.
How to Get Amorphous Materials in The First Descendant
You can get Amorphous Materials in The First Descendant by completing Special Operations, Zone Recon Missions, Void Intercepts, Mine Blocking, and Resource Defence Missions. You’ll need to check whether that type of mission will offer you the Amorphous Material as a reward before selecting it. Once you’ve beaten the mission, you’ll receive it as a drop. However, you’ll then need to open it in order to get the loot inside.

How to Open Amorphous Materials in The First Descendant
To open Amorphous Materials in The First Descendant, you must defeat the boss during Void Intercept or Void Fusion Reactor missions. Then, you’ll need to interact with the Reconstructed Device, which the boss drops. The Reconstructed Device looks like a giant floating ball, and it’s not hard to miss. However, if you return to Albion before interacting with it, you’ll have to repeat the mission again in order to open your Amorphous Material.
Once you’ve finally opened the Amorphous Material, you’ll get a random loot drop. It will correspond with something you’ll need in order to unlock new Descendants and will be pivotal in getting a key material to unlock Bunny. You can check which resource you need per Descendant by talking to Magister Anais in Albion. She is located to the far West of Albion. Once you’ve found her, simply select Research Request, then choose which Descendant you want to unlock. You’ll then just need to check the list of materials they require to be unlocked.

You’ll have to grind quite a few Amorphous Materials in order to get every component you need to unlock a new Descendant. So, be prepared to battle the same bosses a lot.
