Star Wars: Hunters has a range of game types that put a Star Wars spin on classic multiplayer shooter modes. Here are all of the modes in Star Wars: Hunters.
Star Wars: Hunters is turning out to be a surprisingly good free-to-play multiplayer shooter. Launching alongside the likes of XDefiant, Star Wars: Hunters has captured the Switch and mobile market, and that’s in no small part thanks to the game’s plethora of content at launch. In fact, it has a wealth of game modes players will be able to battle it out in as their favorite obscure Star Wars character. Below, we explain what each of the modes entails so you’re not confused when you jump in.
All Modes in Star Wars: Hunters
There are four modes currently in Star Wars: Hunters. These are Squad Brawl, Dynamic Control, Power Control, and Trophy Chase. Each mode is randomly selected when you start a game. Additionally, more modes will be added in future updates. When they are, we’ll be sure to update this article. Here are all the modes in Star Wars: Hunters:
- Squad Brawl – Squad Brawl is essentially Team Deathmatch. Two teams compete to get 20 eliminations (kills) first. There’s no strategy required or objectives to hold. All you need to do is point your weapon at your enemy and kill as many of them as you can within the time limit.
- Dynamic Control – Dynamic Control, as it sounds, requires players to capture and hold rotating control points. It’s similar to Hardpoint in the Call of Duty games and will require you to be constantly on the move. It’s best to have a strong mix of Tank and Support characters for this mode.
- Power Control – Power Control sees players fight to capture and hold the most control points on the map. There will be several set control points, and you get accumulating points per one you’re holding. Obviously, the more you hold, the more points you get and the better chance you have of winning. The first team to reach the score wins. It’s essentially Domination from Call of Duty.
- Trophy Chase – Trophy Chase sees each team fight over the Trophy Droid, TR0-F33. Your team’s percentage score will increase with every second that you hold him, and the first team to reach 100% wins. We definitely recommend playing as either Damage or Tank characters for this game mode, as you’ll either need to take a lot of hits or be fast enough to avoid them.

Previous Star Wars: Hunters Game Modes
There were previously two other game modes, Huttball and Escort. Both of these have been removed as of the official 1.0 launch as they were limited-time modes. Huttball was a sports-based mode in which players had to attempt to score goals while avoiding deadly traps. Escort, as it sounds, saw players escort a giant harpoon from Tatooine to Endor. Both of these modes had their own unique maps.
Unfortunately, there is no word on whether these modes will return in a future update. Of course, it’s possible they’ll remain dormant forever. However, considering the success of the game’s official launch, we believe they’re likely to return. That’s all of the game modes in Star Wars: Hunters.
