A full 9-minute-long deep dive into the upcoming game Promise Mascot Agency from developer Kaizen Game Works dropped today. They are the talented folks behind the wonderful and incredibly ambitious indie game Paradise Killer. For fans of their work or for those who just love strange games about the Yakuza and talking blocks of tofu, Promise Mascot Agency is for you. Below, we delve into the gameplay deep dive and explain everything there is to know.
Promise Mascot Agency Gameplay Deep Dive Details Explained
The Promise Mascot Agency gameplay deep dive begins by explaining the game’s story. You play as Michizane “Michi” Sugawara, a member of the Shimazu Yakuza family. One day, he’s forced to choose between his oath brother and 12 billion yen. Naturally, he chooses his friend. As a result, his death is faked, and he’s sent out to manage the Shimazu family’s last remaining business, the Promise Mascot Agency. There, he Mascots, strange creatures that have unique abilities and must manage them while uncovering a conspiracy that could change the underworld forever.
Managing the Promise Mascot Agency revolves around recruiting Mascots and offering them incentives to get them onboard. This could be more time off or a greater share of the profits. Once you’ve got them, you’ll need to find them jobs and send them off to complete them. However, things don’t always go smoothly. Often, the Mascot will encounter an issue, like being unable to squeeze through a normal-sized door. Fortunately, you can recruit Mascot Heroes, normal townsfolk like Captain Sign. They appear as cards in a unique minigame and must be used to defeat whatever is stopping your Mascot.
When you’re not working, you’ll be able to zip around the open-world town of Kaso-Machi in your truck. You’ll be accompanied by your trusted companion, Pinky, another Mascot that looks like a thumb. Pinky can be flung from the truck to destroy nearby obstacles, and you can even do sweet power slides. There’s a claw game minigame, as well as the ability to manage work in other towns. There’s a lot to unpack in Promise Mascot Agency and we haven’t even mentioned the amazing soundtrack and visuals. So, be sure to watch the above gameplay deep dive and wishlist the game via Steam or your chosen platform.
Promise Mascot Agency is releasing in 2025 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and the Nintendo Switch. That’s everything you need to know about Promise Mascot Agency’s gameplay deep dive. For more articles just like this one, be sure to check out our Guide Hub.
