MultiVersus Welcome Back Rewards, Battle Pass & New Currencies, Explained

In anticipation of MultiVersus’ rerelease, developer Player First Games has revealed Welcome-Back Rewards, a Battle Pass, and the in-game currency.

The free-to-play brawler’s launch is approaching, and everyone is wondering what to expect. Of course, both new and returning players know of the game’s improved visuals, enhanced combat, and its huge roster of characters. Fortunately, even more information has been revealed, giving us a deeper insight into what to expect when jumping into MultiVersus.

All MultiVersus New Reveals Explained

Welcome Back Rewards

Whether you’re a new or returning player, completing the new tutorial at launch will earn you a seven-day reward calendar. This calendar will allow players to unlock one of MultiVersus’s new characters, Banana Guard from Adventure Time. Additionally, by completing the seven-day reward calendar, you will also get the Lady Banana Guard variant of Banana Guard.

However, returning players from the Open Beta will get the Season 1 premium Battle Pass for free. All they need to do is log into MultiVersus before Tuesday, June 11, 2024. This means returning Open Beta players will get Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th as their first reward. Luckily, those who miss the date will still have a chance to receive something special from MultiVersus. Open Beta players who return at any point will receive the special edition Snow Suit Finn character variant, a special Rising Star ringout, and a special edition Banana Guard announcer pack.

These rewards are MultiVersus’s way of thanking the community as it officially returns to the free-to-play gaming market. However, it should be noted that to receive these fantastic in-game rewards, returning and new players will need to link their WB Games Account to MultiVersus. Unfortunately, these rewards will not be accessible without a WB Games Account.

Battle Pass Updates

MultiVersus has increased the number of high-value items in not only its premium tiers in the Battle Pass but also the free tiers. Therefore, everyone can get their hands on great content. A premium currency called Gleamium will also be earnable in both available tiers, giving players the opportunity to use the in-game currency to purchase items, characters, or the next season’s Battle Pass.

At launch, the Battle Pass will be available for eight weeks, and the final stage will be repeatable, giving players who finished early the opportunity to keep earning rewards. Players can expect an abundance of content to gain from the MultiVersus Battle Pass as more variants, ringouts, taunts, and currency will be included from launch and into the future.

Currency Updates

MultiVersus has completely changed its currency, eliminating the token system it used previously. It has now introduced four new currencies, each focusing on different reward types. Fighter is used to unlock fighters, and Perk is used to gain Perks to liven up the gameplay even more. It should be noted that all Perks from the Open Beta will be reset as many Perks have been removed and new ones added, giving all players the same opportunity to gain the Perks they want.

Prestige is a unique currency that rewards players for all items and cosmetics collected. After gaining a certain amount of Prestige, players can use it to unlock rare Prestige cosmetics that can only be achieved using the Prestige currency. Gleamium is also used to gain access to the Battle Pass, along with specific emotes, cosmetics, and other in-game items.

Luckily, those who had Tokens from the Open Beta will not see them go to waste. Character Tokens and Battle Pass Tokens will be available in your inventory and will still be used to unlock characters and the premium Battle Pass. Unfortunately, Gold will no longer be used in MultiVersus. However, players will receive commemorative cosmetics that correlate with the Gold they may have earned in Open Beta. These will also be found in your inventory.
