Sylux in Metroid Prime 4 Beyond

Metroid Prime 4 Is Finally Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has finally revealed some more details about Metroid Prime 4, including a release date (of sorts), a trailer, and its brand-new name.

Fans were wondering what the June Nintendo Direct would bring, hoping it wouldn’t be a slew of third-party farming sims. While we got a few, there were actually a surprising number of new first-party titles, and not just remakes. There was also a final reveal of Metroid Prime 4 Beyond (that’s right!), which announced its release date and showed us gameplay.

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will launch for the Nintendo Switch in 2025. Unfortunately, a specific release date has yet to be confirmed. While it’s possible it could be released in late 2025, considering the Switch 2 will likely launch in mid-to-late 2025, we suspect Metroid Prime 4 will release within the first few months.

The gameplay trailer, which isn’t particularly long, showed us some action-packed moments, as well as a handful of story content. We get to see Samus scan dead bodies, shoot missiles, blast enemies to pieces, run through scripted events, turn into the Morph Ball and sneak around, and see the big bad Sylux in all his redesigned glory. This really does look like Nintendo’s answer to Halo in the best possible sense.

The official description from Nintendo reads: “The galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter, Samus Aran, will embark on a new mission. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, a new entry in the Metroid Prime series, is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025.” That’s everything we know about it currently. Of course, more details will likely be announced during the next direct. For now, be sure to check out our Guide Hub for more articles just like this one.
