LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming and bringing a unique blocky twist to Guerilla’s iconic IP series about Aloy.
Opening up the 2024 Summer Game Fest was the surprise reveal of LEGO Horizon Adventures. It showed us that, yes, there is actually a LEGO Horizon game on the horizon! The gameplay was revealed along with various details for players to be excited about. It seems that Guerilla and co-developer Studio Gobo are looking to bring a unique title with LEGO Horizon Adventures.
LEGO Horizon Adventures Brings A Fun-New Twist to An Iconic Series
Lego Horizon Adventures is being developed for the PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Players will battle against classic enemies like the Thunderjaw and other foes from the Horizon series. Furthermore, the classic building action of other LEGO titles is also present, such as building various structures in the hub world. Unlike LEGO games of the past, players are not going to experience the game from a third-person perspective but rather a top-down view, similar to games like Diablo and Minecraft Dungeons. When it comes to the combat, players can expect a far more simplistic style of fighting compared to the original series’ frenetic action. Various instances in the gameplay show that the game is leaning toward being more approachable to all audiences, making fighting that much easier.
Players looking to play the game with friends or family are also in luck. LEGO Horizon Adventures features co-op both offline and online. It is great to see online co-op returning in LEGO games, as the feature has been absent for many years. Players can also find and equip wacky new costumes Aloy wouldn’t dare be seen wearing in the original games. Rather than have Aloy stick to one outfit, you can select different ones you discover and obtain throughout the journey. LEGO Horizon Adventures looks to be a retelling of the first game, Horizon Zero Dawn. It is a story where Aloy begins her quest to discover her past on Earth in the 31st century when machines rule the land.
It is a definite surprise seeing Horizon receive a LEGO retelling. But it is a welcome addition, especially as it allows younger players to experience the Horizon series. LEGO Horizon Adventures launches this Holiday 2024 season. Are you looking forward to playing LEGO Horizon Adventures? Let us know in the comments below.
