Still Wakes the Deep is a surprisingly long horror game, but just how long will it take you to beat it? Here’s what you need to know.
If you’re thinking of smashing through some games this weekend, you may be considering The Chinese Room’s latest horror game, Still Wakes the Deep. It offers up plenty of scares, a haunting setting, and some seriously impressive visuals. Of course, getting stuck into any game, let alone a spooky horror one, is a tall order at times, thanks to our ever-growing backlogs. Fortunately, it won’t take you too long to get through Still Wakes the Deep.
How Long Is Still Wakes the Deep?
To beat Still Wakes the Deep’s story and see the credits roll, it will take you 6 hours. However, if you want to do absolutely everything, including earning every achievement and finding all of the collectibles, it will likely take you 8 hours. It is possible to beat it in around 4 hours if you play on the game’s Story difficulty. This makes the game’s challenging stealth sections a little easier to stomach.
This is very much a game you can complete over a weekend, so long as you don’t mind the occasional scare. There aren’t any tricky puzzles that you’ll get stumped on or huge open areas that are confusing to navigate. Instead, the only things that will lengthen your runtime are the game’s stealth sections and the potential of getting killed. Even if you do die every now and then, you’ll still be able to complete the game in a short space of time.

Still Wakes the Deep is by far The Chinese Room’s longest game to date, offering up a lengthy horror-filled adventure. Dear Esther is easily its shortest experience, clocking in at 2 hours. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and Little Orpheus will take you 4 to 6 hours. That’s everything you need to know about how long it takes to beat Still Wakes the Deep.
