Dynasty Warriors: Origins is Heading to PS5 in 2025

The May 2024 PlayStation State of Play has given us a first look at the newest musou title, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, coming in 2025.

The Dynasty Warriors series has delivered players the unparalleled epic experience of taking on entire armies just by themselves. However, it’s been a while since the last mainline entry, and fans are wondering when they can get their next power fantasy fix. Fortunately, during the recent May 2024 State of Play, the next title in the series, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, was announced. It looks to deliver the gameplay and narrative that fans love. Additionally, a release window for Dynasty Warriors: Origins was also revealed.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Battles Out Consoles in 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins was confirmed to be released sometime in 2025. Unfortunately, a more specific release window has yet to be announced. While much of what was shown during the State of Play was cinematics, the little gameplay we did see revealed the same epic horde-fighting gameplay fans know and love. Additionally, the narrative focuses on players fighting against an oppressive regime. They will cut down through plenty of enemies and bosses on their way to freeing people from the evil that controls the land.

In addition to the traditional melee combat, players are once again going to be able to trot around on horseback. Because the game is making use of the tech in the PlayStation 5, we can expect to see even more enemies on the battlefield at any given moment. Furthermore, it is likely that, despite the chaotic gameplay, fans can expect a smooth 60 fps.

Koei Tecmo has been working on Dynasty Warriors since 1999, and it’s great to see a new addition to the series. The world of the Three Kingdoms is expansive, and players will have plenty to contend with. As we slowly approach the game’s release window, we can expect to hear more details.
