The new exotic class items in Destiny 2: The Final Shape can be a game-changer, and we have the details on how to get them.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is an incredible concluding expansion for the 10-year Light and Dark Saga. Many players are finishing the final campaign mission. Afterward, it is recommended that the new exotic class item be obtained, as they are helpful. However, it is not so straightforward off the bat on how to get them. Fortunately, we have you covered the process of getting the new exotic class items in Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
How to Get the Exotic Class Items in Destiny 2: The Final Shape
To get the exotic class items in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, players need to complete the Dual Destiny mission. Furthermore, the mission requires two players to commence. It also needs a lot of communication with your partner, so a microphone is recommended. However, there is a process that players must undergo before they can unlock the mission. Below are the steps that need to be taken:
- Complete the Overthrow activity and defeat its boss in The Landing within The Pale Heart. Afterward, head to the cave area in the southeast near the lost sector and defeat the Wizard that spawns.
- Next, head to The Blooming and complete Overthrow and the final boss. Once the boss is dealt with, venture to the region’s east side. In a purple cave, there is another Wizard; defeat it.
- Lastly, teleport to The Impasse, complete the Overthrow activity and beat the boss. Players then need to head to the southwest and defeat the last Wizard.
- Head to the Refraction area and damage the Subjugators until they drop Light and Dark orbs. Each player must take one.
- Go into the cave marked on your screen. There will be two pools of energy. Place the orb in its respective pool to start Dual Destiny.
- Complete the Dual Destiny mission.
Players should note that this process must only be done once per account. From now on, the mission node will pop up on the screen in The Pale Heart.

Additional Way for the Exotic Class Items to Drop in Destiny 2: The Final Shape
After players complete the Dual Destiny mission, they can grind for the exotic class items to drop through The Pale Heart chests. Therefore, they will no longer need to redo the mission if they choose not to. Although the drop rate is less, players can opt to do runs of Overthrow and get the item from the chests rewarded. However, they must complete at least one run of the Dual Destiny to be able to find it in The Pale Heart. Furthermore, it is not guaranteed in chests, so if you wish to get more of them for the perk rolls you want, Dual Destiny gives a guaranteed drop of the exotic class item. Ultimately, the choice is up to the player whether to continue doing the mission or loot the chests from The Pale Heart via Overthrow.
Each exotic class item in Destiny 2: The Final Shape is unique and offers the chance to use two exotic perks in one piece of armor.
